Might be that dbmail will saturate slower and maybe it can handle more connections, I can tell. Just for my personal mailserver, with 4 accounts having 10GB mail, on my local mini-server within XEN, I could heavily feel the difference. After applying all the performance settings I wrote in the wiki plus tuning postgresql.conf, it now runs smooth and I can work without getting a PITA. Our customer with many big mails, like I said before, have about 83GB mail storage used in cyrus now. I wonder how much that will be in dbmail-2.3, and how fast. I didn't dare to implement 2.2 for them, and prefer to wait for 2.4. Maybe we can make it lightning fast until then :-) mfg zmi -- // Michael Monnerie, Ing.BSc ----- http://it-management.at // Tel: 0660 / 415 65 31 .network.your.ideas. // PGP Key: "curl -s http://zmi.at/zmi.asc | gpg --import" // Fingerprint: AC19 F9D5 36ED CD8A EF38 500E CE14 91F7 1C12 09B4 // Keyserver: wwwkeys.eu.pgp.net Key-ID: 1C1209B4 _______________________________________________ Dbmail-dev mailing list [email protected] http://twister.fastxs.net/mailman/listinfo/dbmail-dev
