Hello eveyone

I am a relative newby to linux, but enjoying the benefits it offers.

I have been looking into options for replacing my current Microsoft based
email solution primarily because of the costs associated with licensing.

I stumbled across dbmail and was impressed by all the writeups about the
benefits of running an email system based on a database backend.

Well, to get to my point here, I have been trying to get dbmail to run for
5 days now. No luck.

My problem:
Where is the real documentation on how to install and configure dbmail?
Trust me, I am not trying to be a smartass.
I have gone through what is in the wiki section by section in order and
done as stated. I feel it is incomplete and makes assumptions that I feel
I am unaware of. Remember, I say this as a newby to linux. Yes I concede
that this style of project is probably not for the newby, but how else am
I going to learn if I make no attempt.

So here is what I want to do.
Get dbmail going with mysql+postfix+(option)antispam+antivirus+squirrelmail
I would also like to get DBMA going as well.

I have tried FC5, FC6, Debian Sarge.
FC6 has all packages available via yum, an option I liked.
I have 17 domains with 9700+ users

Given this, can someone point me to a complete howto or a set of complete
instructions on how to even get the basic dbamil system operational. I
have no preference on any of the components used or even the linux
distribution although I would prefer FC4,5,6 or Debian Sarge. My desire
is to have it operational.

Many thanks in advance.

Fred
