Fred,

I am a relative newby to linux, but enjoying the benefits it offers.
I have been looking into options for replacing my current Microsoft based
email solution primarily because of the costs associated with licensing.

in my opinion you cant get a vital mail system running without a clue whats
going on. You want to migrate 10k users to a system you dont know?? I would
do a hell to migrate my 5k users to M$ Exchange without any experiences with
SMTP, Windows and Exchange. You cant expect building a complete new system
with a howto.... you have to play with something like linux for some time to
get practice. It is not only setting this up, you have to run it.

Well, to get to my point here, I have been trying to get dbmail to run for
5 days now. No luck.

i had it up and running in about 30 min (Gentoo, Sunrise Ebuild, 10J linux
user).... so thats the point. A howto is only as good as the person it is
reading!

In my belief you have 3 options:
1. stay with M$
2. pay someone setting up and administering your MTA
3. set it up yourself and sink with your 10k users ....

please, dont take it personally.

regards Martin
