I haven't started evaluating 2.3 yet, but in the 2.2.* mysql is much
faster then postgresql in searches and doesn't have as many problems.

Sometimes the low-end database is more appropriate for an application
then the higher-end.

Instead of being a database leetist it is worth determining needs based
on the application.
