the compressed tables are a real improvement - we are using them since 2009 - before 5.5 you needed innodb_plugin and so a lot of care in case of updates
@ Harald - more stable because the proxy in front doing SSL termination? Well that explains why i have no problems for a longer time - luckily had dovecot in front of for SASL and username translations shortly after not so well switch to Linux and become a Mailadmin in 2009 because clients configured not supported auth-mechs and the proxy solved all problems at once -------- Ursprüngliche Nachricht -------- Von: Harald Leithner <[email protected]> Gesendet: Tue Oct 22 18:18:45 MESZ 2013 An: DBMail mailinglist <[email protected]> Betreff: Re: [Dbmail] Any reason to pick MySQL 5.5 over MySQL 5.1 for dbmail? I personally prefer Percona Server 5.6 (atm I'm using 5.5). One of the best features in my opinion is InnoDB Compressed Tables. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/innodb-compression.html Percona Server has better scalability under load. anyway I would really suggest you to upgrade. PS: dbmail runs more or less stable now.
