The sarge amd64 archive will remain till etch is released. When amd64 enters sid only unstable/testing will be on ftp-master. So amd64.debian.net will have to maintain non-free stable till etch is released, may that be 18 month after sarge or 3 years. Who knows. A lot longer than 1 month anyway.
