Hello again people, Well, it seems I still have a problem: apt-get upgrade wants to replace xserver-xorg-core, which is what "caused" the X problem in the first place. After doing this, the dependencies are satisfield at that point, but Xorg says module "nvidia" doesn't exist; so I reinstall xserver-xorg-core 2:1.1.1-18 again from Apt cache, and then X runs again.
(I've not run the Nvidia installer Len, I took your advice years ago on that.) So, now X is running, but apt-get upgrade now wants me to run: apt-get -f install to correct dependencies, so I'm stuck between two software places.......:^) Any ideas as to how to correct these dependencies? _____________________________________________ apt-get -f install --dry-run Reading package lists...
