Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.0.11-4

kernel: 2.6.16.14, libc-2.3.6.so
Alsa modules: snd_via82xx, snd_ac97_codec, snd_ac97_bus, snd_mpu401_uart, snd_rawmidi

The last update broke my alsa. This is what I get when trying
"/etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart".

ALSA lib control.c:816:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL hw:0
amixer: Mixer attach hw:0 error: No such file or director
(repeated many times)

./alsamixer gives:
ALSA lib control.c:816:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or
directory

and by running "strace alsamixer" it seems that the packagers have
forgotten something:
...
stat64("/home/jordi/svn/pkg-alsa/trunk/build-area/alsa-lib-1.0.11//share/alsa/alsa.conf",
0xbf83f08c) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
write(2, "ALSA lib control.c:816:(snd_ctl_"..., 47ALSA lib
control.c:816:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) ) = 47
write(2, "Invalid CTL default", 19Invalid CTL default) = 19
...

Is there an easy fix for this?

Best regards,
Kristian

alsa-lib (1.0.11-7) unstable; urgency=low

  * Introduced --datadir=\$${prefix}/share in debian/rules. Otherwise soundapps
    are looking in $BUILDDIR/${prefix}/share.

Thx
