Hello,

I am not the maintainer of pan but I also had some trouble with
authentification of pan recently. In fact, as indicated in NEWS.Debian,
pan is now using the gnome-keyring tool to store the passwords. I guess
that in a gnome desktop that runs smoothly. What desktop are you running?

I found that for the xfce desktop the simplest solution is to check in
the Settings->Session->Advanced menu the box for "Launch GNOME services at
startup", and then restart the session.

Dominique: maybe this information can be added somewhere with the
documentation of the pan package?

-Ralf.
