For avoidance of doubt, "this user" appears to be you. I'm not sure why you didn't just say that.

are clearly not the fault of anything that Debian has done. They are due to *your* mail system rejecting the messages.

I'm not a listmaster, but I am confused as to what you're expecting them to do to fix a mail system you choose to use that refuses to accept mail from people you say you want to interact with.
