Package: gnome-control-center Version: 1:42.3-1 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: j...@joshtriplett.org
gnome-control-center 1:42.3-1 adds a dependency on gnome-remote-desktop, a daemon for remote desktop sharing. I'd like to avoid installing that on my system, for the same reason I avoid installing even an inert sshd: avoiding mistakes where it could end up running unexpectedly. I appreciate that gnome *metapackages* aren't designed for people to pick-and-choose components, and I would understand if a gnome metapackage had this dependency (though I'd really appreciate it if it did not have a hard dependency). But gnome-control-center is not a metapackage; it's a concrete package containing one of the core required components of a GNOME desktop. I'd appreciate it if it didn't have a hard dependency on gnome-remote-desktop.
