Please see https://launchpad.net/bugs/1980606 (which was mentioned in the debian/changelog). Without that dependency, the app crashes. Perhaps the gsettings schemas could be split to a separate package but I believe the code assumes that gnome-remote-desktop is available. So we would just have a different bug. If you want to keep gnome-remote-desktop from running, why don't you mask and disable the systemd user services? You could also lockdown the gsettings values. See https://help.gnome.org/admin/system-admin-guide/stable/dconf-lockdown.html for some basic documentation on how to do that. I believe that would show the Remote Desktop Sharing option in the Settings app but it would be impossible to turn the switch on. I'll probably close this bug. Thank you, Jeremy Bicha
