Nope: sorry, didn't work.

My laptop is running "testing" except for the kernel from unstable.
Maybe I need to upgrade some other packages to unstable?

More details: the file was filled in automatically using
initramfs-tools 0.60,

  $ cat /etc/mkinitramfs/conf.d/resume
  RESUME=/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part3

and stayed correct in the new location after I upgraded to
initramfs-tools 0.67,

  $ cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume
  RESUME=/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part3

Anyway, clearly the HOWTO above should be modified to use

  update-initramfs -u

of which I was unaware, instead of dpkg-reconfigure on the kernel.
