Thanks for the fast feedback. FOA, you're right, it was a typo. 3142 is the 
right port.

Find attached the apt-cacher.conf. It's a standard one.

Nothing relevant in the access.log file for what the d-i may concern, nothing 
as well on error.log. Maybe I could try later more in detail.

What I thought about later is that my new computer is an amd64 based one, 
whereas the former one (the one doing the caching) is a i386 based.

Please let me know if this info is relevant. Take into account that I'll try 
to confirm every detail again later.
