That sounds suspicious: Did you perhaps use non-Debian packages, where libltdl-dev provided libltdl3-dev so that the build-dependencies were satisfied even with a too old libtool?!? >> I recommend using the wrapper "debuild" instead of dpkg-buildpackage >> directly. Please try in a fresh directory, after you've installed all build-dependencies, to unpack netatalk packaging sources from scratch and test using debuild.
