By way of a feasibility test, I had virt-manager Shut Down ==> Save the a762146 vm at its ready for first login state and have put the tarball of the 124MB file it created in /var/lib/libvirt/qemu/save up at http://dlc.casita.net/~dlc/762146/a762146.vmsave.test.tar for you to retrieve. I expect you will also need the hard drive image which compressed into 5.3 GB, so we have a logistical difficulty there.
