How is that (except that mail uses the local sendmail) different from:

echo "foo" | gpg --clearsign | mail -s "subject" [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
cat mailtxt | gpg --clearsign | mail -s ... or
cat mailtxt.signed | mail -s ....
