If it is provided as a blend, the people proposing the blend will have to do the image testing as well. Existing volunteers would get a choice to test the blend image as well or not.
I don't think the proposal was to force anyone - but someone stepping in to do the required work.
Btw, our existing image CONTAINS the non-free firmware, but you can choose to not install it.Greetings Marc
