For vlc on sparc it might not be a bad idea to have a look why it failed
there.
I just tried to build both vlc 0.9.9a-3+b1 and 1.0.0-1 on my sparc box.
Both times, I had build failures because of /usr/include/scsi/scsi.h
missing. This is bug #537354 of libc6-dev that is first found in 2.9-20
and fixed in 2.9-21, but unfortunately, eglibc 2.9-21 FTBFS on sparc
when running its regression tests.
When lebrun tried to build vlc 1.0.0-1 for sparc, it failed earlier. It
apparently could not find libhal-dev or libdbus-1-dev, while they
apparently were correctly installed. I have no idea what happened then.
Ok, thanks for testing. So there probably is some broken chroot on
lebrun (Cc-ing sparc buildd maintainers).
Cheers
