IIRC closed aps like the citrix client are dynamically linked against libXm.so and since almost a year, 2.3 of openmotif is required for citrix ica client. Additionaly, open apps like guis and stuff are linking statically against a specific version of libXm.so.* - so only they need to be recompiled. I leave the decision of using openmotif or lesstif up to the user.
