Aaahhhh, that completely explains it. Why didn't you say something earlier? :) What you need to do is set up Samba, and create some static mount points on your filesystem. This is what Samba enables you to do. I don't use any gui LAN browsers, because, quite frankly, they're all really crappy, and they're merely front-ends to smbmount and smbclient.
