You usually have a Gnome menu and a Debian menu, but i use only the
Debian one tho... =>

The fastest way to find the path in the menu for a program is to look
in /usr/lib/menu for the program name, for example, /usr/lib/menu/pan
shows that "pan" is under "section=Apps/Net".

I've seldom modified the menu, usually you add a launcher on one of
your panels or on the desktop, but if you really need customization, i
suggest you to follow the "menu" documentation, putting an entry to
/etc/menu...
