Hi list,

just a simple question: Does debian accept suggestions of new packages,
although they are old and orphaned by the original devolper?

If yes, MUST there be new developments and changes in the package or will it
be okay, when the package will be linked against latest libs instead of the
old ones?

There is a software, I find it woth to suggest, but it is no more developed
since 2009. I would like to try (and to learn), to rebuild the software and
create a new debian package.

I have only a compiled version here, but it is running well on my system.

On the other hand, if such software will not be accepted in debian at all,
there is no need for me to build a debian package.

(Just if someone is interested: the software is called umtsmon, version 0.9 is
running well, but 0.10 does not. So I will build of course 0.9)

If there is no interest, just do not waste time, to answer my mail.

Best regards

Hans
