BTW I'm a fan of ^A ^C and pasting the result into a buffer.
It has the advantage of:

  showing the formatting of the original page

  showing the bits of the page that look like
  text but aren't really so¹, and are therefore
  missed by lynx et al.

in the browser's display.

¹ ^A doesn't change them to inverse-video.
