Check temperature! If it shuts down due to overheating, check /var/log/syslog or /var/log/kern.log. There should be an entry for it. There are also tools, which check sensors and show its actual state. Look for gkrellm or others. Most problems with notebooks, is the air release ist often full of dust. Relating to the processor use, it may overheat or not. Check the air flow is good. Hope this helps. Best Hans
