Hi Scott: >> Let me ask people: do you think that it would be better to have the "Msg failed" lines in LOGLEVEL MID? <<
Nes or rather Yo <G> I don't need the "message failed" lines for any of the IP based tests - because I can easily run the IP against the specific test listed in the summary line. However, I've already had several occasions where I struggled to get information from the client, whenever a BADHEADER, SPAMHEADER or FILTER was involved. It is now impossible to determine the REASON why an email failed a header or filter test. My previous suggestion had been to expand the summary line to include a "reason" code, e.g., BADHEADER(80001004), SPAMFILTER(37), WHITELIST(IP) for BADHEADER reason code or SPAMFILTER line number or WHITELIST reason. The goal should be to make MID level logging LESS VERBOSE - but NOT less informative. Correct. >Nothing like having logs 5 times larger just to >see the information that was in the old mid logs. Although LOGLEVEL HIGH may be about 5 times the size of LOGLEVEL MID *now*, the LOGLEVEL HIGH now is only slightly larger than the LOGLEVEL MID in previous versions. I just checked a sample E-mail, and the new LOGLEVEL HIGH was only about 12% larger than the old LOGLEVEL MID. So if you were using LOGLEVEL MID, you shouldn't see much difference going to LOGLEVEL high. That extra 12% should help make up for the bloated 500% extra that people were seeing at LOGLEVEL LOW in the past. Let me ask people: do you think that it would be better to have the "Msg failed" lines in LOGLEVEL MID? -Scott --- Declude JunkMail: The advanced anti-spam solution for IMail mailservers.
