When I saw this I decided to use the DELETEVIRUSES ON option because I
just want to keep the vulnerabilities and e-mails with banned
attachments, to be safe as you well said. After I changed the setting I
found that e-mails with banned files are kept but the ones with
vulnerabilities are deleted.

This will be fixed in the next release. I am surprised that nobody had reported this before.
