Follow up: After re-running a test with logs in Debug mode (as suggested by Declude), I traced down my problem not to a Declude issue, but an alias loop error. My postmaster was pointed to "root", instead of my account. On reflection, it must of happened when we had to rebuild the system after a disk crash a month or so back.
