Subject: apt/gnome-apt: versionning problems + suggestion
X-Mailer: VM 6.68 under Emacs 19.34.1
Package: apt, gnome-apt
Version: 0.3.2, 0.3
I just upgraded apt to 0.3.2, whereas I did not found a new version
for gnome-apt. As the latter has a dep against libapt-pkg.so.2.0,
which is not in apt_0.3.2, I suggest the following mechanism, which I
already use for e2fsprogs.
* make apt_0.3.2 provide libapt2.2
* add a line in apt.shlibs directing depending packages to the
libapt2.2 virtual package.
This will automatically make gnome-apt, and any other packages
depending on libapt-pkg have valid dependencies.
