Being an avid delphi user (since its trial versions) and before that
turbo pascal for dos programmer, then turbo pascal for windows
programmer, I have a bit of an issue as to why since delphi 6, the
version count to 7 then .net then 2005 then 2006 has been over a *very*
short span of time. Does anyone else find this disturbing because to me
a proper balance of features (classes and all), speed and size was
delphi 5 - which remained very stable, very functional for a couple of
years. I hated delphi 6 which really didn't add anything new for me to
delphi 5 and didnt bother to upgrade anyway. So questions:
1. Any reason for me to migrate from delphi 7 (which i currently use?
and i think its also getting to the heavy side and has loads of
pre-installed stuff which i dont really use?)
2. Does anyone else in here think the later delphi versions from seven
are all getting too heavy, bulky and resource hungry to install and run?
(just like all applications nowadays are becoming?)
3. Best delphi version (and why?)
thanks
