If I may point out: Most users don't have a 2.4GHz PC. Developers tend to have "cutting edge" hardware either for the "geek factor" or because they like the faster compile times or both. The "average user"'s computer is 1GHz-1.4GHz these days. So if it takes 250ms on your computer, assume it takes 2-3 times as long on slower hardware.
