Good afternoon,

I'm sure there are ready made (VCL) solutions available for this, but it
should be as
easy as dropping a TIdHTTP (Indy) or THTTPCli (ICS) or similar component on
your form
and some sort of file-parser inside it (could be an XML-reader, INI-reader,
whatever).

Let your application download a small (XML, INI, whatever) file from your
webserver, you
previously uploaded with file-version information of the latest build,
compare it to the
current version of the application and if the version is larger, tell the
user.

When there's a new version, just update your version-file (XML, INI, ...) on
the server.

Greetz,

Peter.

Onderwerp: [delphi-en] How to? Application checks to see if upgrade is
available

Good Morning!

I want to have my application check to see if an update is available from my
website.

Can anyone recommend a component and/or method of doing this?

Delphi 6 on Windows XP.

The less expensive the better. This is freeware.

Thanks...Dan'l
