Really? That's strange. It seems only to be happening to those
messages I send to Delphi-Talk, but it didn't start until about two months
back or so.
Right now my DSL line is handling downloaded material at about 9 kb
per sec! That's worse than dial-up! And so I called earthlink tech support
and this guy from some mid-eastern country told me it had nothing to do with
them, that it depended upon the actual server I was downloading from. <BG>
Well I realized right away that this guy simply didn't want to do any work
that day so I hung up and called back. This time I got a real American who
went thru all the tests...they have a number of test servers just for that
purpose...and he was amazed at how slow it was running, so he went to the
engineers and they told us to do a trace. We found the router that was
causing the problems and it jived with a problem they already knew about and
had planned to replace this coming Tuesday. So now I'll wait and see what
happens tomorrow I guess. If it's no better by Wednesday I don't know what
to do because I'm in an area where the ONLY service I can get is thru Sprint
and Earthlink.

None of my messages have ever been visible to me, even though I've tried
varying the settings for my account.
If you ever find out why this happens, please post the answer.
