My Delphi 3 is not working for some reason. Here's what happened:

Two weeks ago I changed my HDD from 4,2 to 10 Gb, and installed Win98 on
it. After configuring the whole system, installing the standard programs
(Office 2000, Real, Netscape 4) I installed Delphi 3 Client/Server. I
started Delphi and started installing the components, but when I got to
RX Components the whole system just stopped. I mean the mouse too, and
Ctrl+Alt+Del didn't work either, so I reseted, started Delphi again and
the same thing happened.
Well I thought that maybe I installed Delphi wrong, so I removed it and
installed it again, but this time the system blocked at the Delphi logo.
I removed it and a few days later installed Delphi Standard. Everything
worked, I installed the RX Standard components, but the DB and Tools
package I couldn't, cause the system blocked again. Well OK, I can
manage without those, I thought, and worked for about one week without
them. After that the system blocked again. I didn't change anything, I
haven't even installed another component, but it just stopped. So I
restarted in Safe mode, and Delphi worked OK, I even managed to install
the DB and Tools components. And since then I work only in Safe mode,
cause there's no way of starting Delphi in Normal mode.
But today I put a DBGrid on a form, and Delphi blocked again. The system
didn't, however, so I didn't have to reset the computer, but I had to
write off the DBGrid component too from my usage list, cause it blocked
every time I tried to put it on the form. I don't know, perhaps there
are other components that would act this way, but I noticed that
RXDBGrid, which is the descendent of DBGrid, block Delphi too.
Well I backuped all my files and formatted the whole HDD again,
installed Windows again etc. but nothing changed, I can work in Safe
mode only, and the DBGrid still doesn't work.
Since I don't think it's Delphi's fault (I've been using the same
program for 2 years now, and this happened only now, for the 1st time),
it could be the following:
- either something's wrong with Windows
- there are bad sectors on the HDD
- there's a virus

But before I start scanning the whole 10 Gb Hard disk for bad sectors,
could someone advise me or tell me what's wrong? Has anyone had a
similar case?
If nothing else works, then I will change to Linux and I'll probably buy
Delphi 4, but I'm not sure if this will fix the problem..

Bye, Gajo
