it's not 2..7 and it's not 1-based either
it's 2..7 of the 0-based .D4 field of the TGUID
in other words the last 6 bytes of the thing that comes back
from CoCreateGUID()
I hope this won't get reported as an outbreak of foot-in-mouth disease.
