Ok you go me. I think I stopped at the help stuff :)
And I always complain about our users not reading the Docs !!

Anyway adding the TShellResources component kind of fixes the problem. It now shows the findfolder animation but it doesn't play. i.e. it seems to sit on the first frame.

I am using the following code to play it.

Animate.Play(0, Animate.FrameCount, 0);

Is there something else I am missing?

Windows VistaTM Notes

    * In Windows Vista, you must run the installer while logged on either as
Administrator or as a user with administrative privileges. That is, changes to
the Program Files directory require elevated security.
    * The registration client occasionally fails on Windows Vista. To work
around this problem, select Allow this program when the Windows Live OneCare
Firewall appears, then exit and restart registration. Do not select Block this
program, because doing so will prevent you from registering afterward.
    * Windows Vista does not support the legacy WinHelp help viewer
(WinHelp.exe). If you want to use .HLP files, see the Microsoft website (
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=6ebcfad9-d3f5-4365-8070-334cd175d4bb).
    * If you use any of the CommonAVI's provided by the TAnimate component in
Windows Vista, you must also add the component TShellResources from the Win32
tab of the component palette to your project. Windows Vista no longer contains
backwards compatible shell animations, and the TShellResources component adds
the following replacement animation resources to your executable:
          o FindFolder.res
          o FindFile.res
          o FindComputer.res
          o CopyFiles.res
          o CopyFile.res
          o RecycleFile.res
          o EmptyRecycle.res
          o DeleteFile.res

No. They don't crash or anything, they just don't show.

Hi

I am using D2007. The replacements don't seem to be built into the component. I just did a search and there don't seem to be any AVI files

shipped with Delphi 2007.

Will continue to look.

D2007 should have replacement AVI's although I haven't tested.

MS don't want folks using those resources anymore.

Does anybody know if that still the case if using D2007 (with regards

News to me.

What does Vista do in these cases? Does it have equivalents?
