fascinating that you are, and welcome to denemo (I am far from a regular on this mailing list -- have been around for a while but SUPER sparsely) I am guessing you are on Windows? Occasionally platform/OS matters in resolving this or that issue (just ran into an OS-specific thing yesterday) I prefer to work on Linux/Ubuntu, typically build denemo from source and have had some issues with audio playback, that were more like critical feature improvement needs, than glitches. Up until yesterday I only used the computer keyboard for input, and that pretty much played the sounds as I typed. However, up until last night I had never ever ever used any MIDI controller for input -- It just didn't work on Linux (and I never tried it on Windows, because of that)... but now we have a fix, and I do (!) The feature improvements I wanted here was: better user controls for the playback. Such that I could turn the playback off and on, easily, and control the timbre of the playback, and also - have the same quality and nuance in the play-as-you-type playback -- as we hear the nuance during the playback in the "playback view" -- which renders grace notes, for instance. And sounds out chords. (I badly want to be able to control the way the chords are sounded... perhaps make them rolled a bit, to taste, adjust their volume separately, relatively to the melodic parts, their timbre, etc, etc, ) > 2) How can I set up the program so that it doesn't automatically enter > everything I play when I am testing out ideas? (or... controlling whether it does or doesn't do that, preferably) (I hope I even framed the context of this correctly --- so as not to throw off a newcomer off the correct path and contextual understanding. Hope someone else joins checks my thinking here.)
