Hi all

Some new activity on the GitLab issue:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Design/app-icon-requests/-/work_items/119#note_2800709

What should be done to move a step towards a final decision?
Either (a) give the designer some instructions on how to improve one of the proposed icons, (b) choose one of the proposed icons, (c) give it up and keep the old icon.
I'm for either (a) or (b).

Thanks
Federico

Yes, I also think the 2nd one is the best.

I can't imagine a good way of paying homage to lilypond without making the icon too "dense of information". For example, we may replace the rest icon with a symbolic version of the lily icon on lilypond.org, but I think it wouldn't work well.

The homage is implicit: this icon shows the old tools used by the music typesetters until 19th century and LilyPond mission has always been to "bring the aesthetics of traditionally engraved music to computer printouts".

Let me know if you want to comment directly on GNOME Gitlab issue or want me to bring your message.
I hope Richard will share his opinion as well.

Thanks

I think I like the 2nd one the best. I admit that I am a bit used to
the old design because I have been using denemo for around 20 years
now. I had a go at making my own icon but I am just recycling the old
ideas. I also paid homage to lilypond in it as well.

Best,
Jeremiah

 Hi folks

As advised a few months ago, a GNOME designer is working on a new
Denemo icon. Find attached the latest proposals. What do you like most?
 I like 1 and 2. I would exclude 3.

The discussions is here if you want to join it:
