I'm confused.
I've done all the right things, including:
Adding an IP to allowed-hosts
Yes, the file is in the right directory and being read
Cleared all related files of the offending IP
The next time I get that IP to scan my server (its a vulnerability
tester), the bad logins are noticed and nothing is done, good.
Next time I get bad logins from a totally unrelated IP, the allowed one
gets readded!
Obviously denyhosts rescans the logs, but I'd have thought the
allowed-hosts would continue to prevent it being added.
Any advice welcome.
