Bryan Pendleton commented on DERBY-6791:
----------------------------------------
Hi Abhinav.
Indeed, my copy of the JIRA screen looks different than yours.
For one thing, over on the right side, where it says "People", I see:
Assignee: Unassigned
<Assign to me link>
Reporter: Bryan Pendleton
Votes: 0
Watchers: 3 <Stop watching this issue link>
For another thing, at the top of the screen, I have 6 large buttons that read:
Edit Comment Assign More Resolve Issue Close Issue
While on your screen your screenshot shows:
Comment Agile Board More
So it seems to me that JIRA is still not displaying you as a member of the
developers group.
What happens when you go to your JIRA "profile" screen? If you look at mine
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=bryanpendleton
and compare it to yours, perhaps you can spot the difference?
For example, what does your profile show for "Groups" (mine shows
all-developers,
derby-developers, and jira-users).

> For the 2015 Google Summer of Code, I am offering to mentor a
> student for general bug fixing of the Derby database.
> The Derby JIRA has collected the community's knowledge about
> known bugs in Derby, and there are plenty of bugs for us to work on.
> If you take on this project, with assistance from me, you'll:
> - select Derby issues from the Derby issue to fix
> - reproduce those problems by writing and running tests
> - develop patches to address the problems
> - work with the community to get the patches reviewed
> - have your reviewed and accepted contributions committed to the next Derby
> release.
