Wily 15.10 is much better than 15.04. About half the time Wily comes up O.K., if not maybe one "set wallpape" fixes it.
There've been Wily xserver updates to xserver - one of the xserver updates made hashing wallpaper worse, next update now much better than 15.04. Of course 14.10 and preceding levels of Ubuntu are fine. I've seen mention of a BIOS update perhaps could affect this, perhaps not. If the update process screws up I've got a dead computer.
