not as bad as 15.04 since 15.10 sometimes comes up with correct
wallpaper display while 15.04 practically never does.

14.04-2 LTS runs just fine, thank you.  Watching the updates which I do
daily, xserver-xorg-intel updates seems to be the most likely to affect
the display.

I change wallpaper back and forth between two copies of the same jpg,
different names, like so:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri 
'file:////home/jerry/Pictures/Shark_Island.jpg'
exit 0

A bit of a pain but livable for a tester used to half baked releases
with problems.
