Summary:

How do I ****prevent**** StarOffice from assuming CUPS is the print scheduler?

Background:

O.K., CUPS is broke, just flat out broke... CUPS backend needed by Gutenprint,
but CUPS frontend corrupts any print job sent to it. UGLY.

I want to print to "/usr/bin/lp -c -s -d MY_PRINTER" and StarOffice keeps
attempting
to send the print job to CUPS.

Several posts list a compile option for OpenOffice "--disable-cups", but what
is the
equivalent for StarOffice (since I am not compiling it....)

I have attempted to configure via "/opt/staroffice8/program/spadmin". No help.
Either the settings are not taken or the CUPS trumps spadmin.

I have attempted to manually edit "/opt/staroffice8/share/psprint/psprint.conf".
I can not find any docs on the file.... What would I modify to get CUPS out of
the
picture? (see attached)

Cheers,
Joel.

P.S. I am not on this list so, please reply to "leojava at comcast.net".
Thanks.
