  Thanks for the detailed mail!
  This may be a  case of SO broke on CUPS seems fairly old version.
  There is a newer version of CUPS 1.3.6 going into nevada 87,
  the hard work of the printing group, Norm, Wendy etc
  may help.

  I don't know whether there is an option for SO to disable that
  like the case of Firefox. Some StarOffice engineers on the list
  care to comment?
