Alan,
I tried xterm -C, but its behavior is peculiar. First, with
or without the -C, it takes about 7 sec to start up, and
maxes the cpu. In comparison, gnome-terminal starts almost
instantaneously.
Second, when I specify the -C, it doesn't seem connected to
/dev/console: when I run an application that under the CDE
and Solaris 10 produces output on the console (dtterm -C), I
see nothing in the xterm console (OpenSolaris 2008.11).
Are there any plans to add the -C option to gnome-terminal?
