It all depends on what your intended usage is and your budget. If you want cutting edge OpenGL and high-performance 3D, and a card that is not likely to moved to "legacy support" soon, then the gtx 2xx series is my personal recommendation. The store you mentioned does carry the 260 ($280 USD). However, I'm fortunate enough to live near a store called "Microcenter", which has a significantly better selection. My two personal things against a $30 quadro fx on ebay are: * likely to be moved to legacy driver or won't have great 3d performance for desktop/game-oriented usage * unreliability of ebay vendors Also be aware that many of the newer video cards require two PCI-X power connectors from the power supply (you can get a molex adapter if you only have one).
