Have you taken a look at the page:
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/nwam/picea/troubleshooting/
If you can gather information as described here we might be better able to track
down the issue.
Attached is a script, I recently wrote, that attempts to automate this, maybe
you could give this a try...
At the prompt, "waiting..." please try reproduce the issue several times, and
then press RETURN to continue so that it can gather the information, then send
me the generated tarball.
