As mentioned on this list before, these are large cumbersome email
programs which just happen to provide a calendar sub-component. They
provide no satisfaction at all for those who do not want to use
Thunderbird or Evolution as their email program.

CDE's dtcm does not prescribe/require use of a particular email
program. What is needed is a stand alone calendar program which
provides sufficient hooks in order to deliver an email-based
notification message. It is useful if email-based notification is
done via a daemon component so that it does not require that the user
remain logged in to a particular desktop in order to be notified.

The function of a calendar program is not just to display a calendar.
It also provides a critical notification function of scheduled events
so that the user can be notified of obligations at the appropriate
times.

Please don't force me to use /usr/bin/calendar again.

Thanks,

Bob
