I did seriously try out Sunbird a while ago and while it seems most
promising, it had several severe usability issues for me. The most
severe is that it does not support AM/PM time as normally used in the
USA. Perhaps I am an idiot but converting between AM/PM time and
24-hour time does not come naturally to me.

Another shortcoming I found is that I did not find a way to clone an
existing entry to create a new one. For example, there may have been
a meeting on Tuesday and now it is decided that there will be a
similar meeting on Friday. It is useful to be able to clone the
existing meeting entry (which contains useful information) to the new
entry on Friday.

When positioning the entry visually on the calendar, it was often off
by 15 minutes (critial error) but it was not possible to tell that
without opening the entry.

There is a timezone oddity in Sunbird that if you don't get it
configured quite correctly (configuration is confusing!), all of the
meeting notifications will be off since the data seems to be stored as
an offset from UTC.

Sunbird does not offer a way to send email. It could do this by
offering to execute an external program (but it does not).
