Do we need to vote on the desktop community endorsing pkgbase?
If so, then +1 from me.

I think there is an issue here that all OpenSolaris communities should 
decide on. What criteria, is used to judge core contributer status. For 
me, a core contributer should at least make substantial on-going 
contributions to 1 or more endorsed (by the community) projects, and 
also be active on the community discussion list. I agree that it has to 
be case-by-case, as using a metric like number of spec-files is 
problematic as not all spec-files are the same difficulty level.
